February Acorn

The winter marches slowly on, but the days grow ever brighter and longer.  The new year brought much joy to Atlantia, with the elevation of three of Our nobles to the Peerage and a new Baron and Baroness invested in Black Diamond.  Twelfth Night was all a mid-winter celebration could and should be, a wondrous day in a beautiful site, made all the better by the company of good friends and recognition of many good gentles.  We thank all those whose time and efforts went into the planning and execution of this and other events.  Coming together at events is, after all, the very core of our Society.

Just as our medieval fore-bearers occupied themselves, in February we plan for the coming of spring.  The Kingdom Arts and Sciences Festival approaches, and We anticipate a great display of the finest craftsmanship and research in the Knowne World.  This month is also a time of celebration for several of Our Baronies marking anniversaries: Bright Hills, Windmaster's Hill, Nottinghill Coill, and Ponte Alto.  We are pleased to welcome Master Callistus Gill and Dame Adriana la Bretonne as they step into the leadership of Atlantia's (arguably) oldest Barony.

As was declared at 12th Night, Atlantia will join her forces with the Kingdom of Trimaris in their upcoming dispute with the Kingdom of Ansteorra.  Ready your weapons and march with us to war!  Gulf Wars has enjoyed an ever-growing Atlantian presence, and unlike some other wars, still retains the intimacy and spirit of a Society event.  We invite Our renowned archers to join Her Majesty at the butts, and rally to His Majesty on the fields of armored and rapier combat.  There shall be a grand processional.  Let the beauty and glory of Atlantia shine as we shake the ground and drive fear into the hearts of Our foes!  His Majesty has established Ordinances for War to govern the conduct of Our forces at Gulf Wars, and these can be found on the Atlantian web site.

Until we meet again we remain
