Kingdom Web Minister Deputies

The Office of the Kingdom Web Minister has several deputy positions which we are looking to fill at this time. Interested parties should email the Web Minister. If you are not currently a warranted Web Minister but are interested in applying for the positions, please include a summary of your SCA and relevant modern experience.

The open positions will be responsible for:

Web Publications

The Web Publications Deputy will be named in Kingdom Law and therefore become an Officer of State in accordance with Their Majesties' Curia at Sapphire Joust. The duties of this Officer position will consist of overseeing and managing all of the web publications for the Kingdom.

Database Administrator

We are seeking a qualified Database Administrator to review our current data structures, optimize them where possible, and provide monitoring and upkeep of our growing data infrastructure. Applicants should be familiar with SQL and relational databases in general. It is helpful if they are particularly knowledgeable of the MySQL database but any relational database provides the basic working knowledge required.

Systems Administrator

The Systems Administrator will be responsible for backups, email, mailing lists, DNS, and other areas of our infrastructure which are not directly involved in the Web Publications, Database, or Security areas. Our environment is on a shared hosting plan at DreamHost and so direct interaction with the hardware is not required at this time.

Security Advisor

The Security Advisor will advise the Kingdom Web Minister, the Crown, and other Officers of State as to the state of security of our information resources and databases. The ideal candidate will be able to balance usability concerns with the sensitivity of the data and other assets to be protected. They should be able to present the risks and benefits that are identifiable as well as the potential impact of any proposed solutions.

The last three positions are not being written into Kingdom Law yet because the office is still undergoing drastic re-organization. The Office will re-visit which offices may benefit from status as Officers of State and which will benefit the Kingdom at a later time.
